Strain-dependent resistance and giant gauge factor in monolayer WSe2 *

نویسندگان

چکیده

We report the strong dependence of resistance on uniaxial strain in monolayer WSe2 at various temperatures, where gauge factor can reach as large 2400. The observation strain-dependent and giant is attributed to emergence nonzero Berry curvature dipole. Upon increasing strain, dipole generate net orbital magnetization, which would introduce additional magnetic scattering, decreasing mobility thus conductivity. Our work demonstrates engineering transport properties, making potential for application high-performance flexible transparent electronics.

Gauge Factor and Stretchability of Silicon-on-Polymer Strain Gauges

Strain gauges are widely applied to measure mechanical deformation of structures and specimens. While metallic foil gauges usually have a gauge factor slightly over 2, single crystalline silicon demonstrates intrinsic gauge factors as high as 200. Although silicon is an intrinsically stiff and brittle material, flexible and even stretchable strain gauges have been achieved by integrating thin s...

Tracking giant folds in a monolayer.

The collapse dynamics of giant folds in a catanionic monolayer at the air-water interface are examined. A monolayer of dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide (DODAB) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in a 1:1 ratio is the system of study that previously was found to fold upon compression in a Langmuir trough. Carboxylate-coated polystyrene beads (1 microm diameter) are deposited and bound to the mo...

Cavity ringdown strain gauge.

Biconical tapered single-mode fiber, which is common in many telecommunications components, offers an alternative sensor to typical optical fiber strain gauges that are susceptible to temperature and pressure effects and require expensive and sophisticated signal acquisition systems. Cavity ringdown spectroscopy, a technique commonly applied to high-sensitivity chemical analysis, offers detecti...

A Strain Range Dependent Cyclic Plasticity Model

Hysteresis loop curves are highly important for numerical simulations of materials deformation under cyclic loadings. The models mainly take account of only the tensile half of the stabilized cycle in hysteresis loop for identification of the constants which don’t vary with accumulation of plastic strain and strain range of the hysteresis loop. This approach may be quite erroneous particularly ...
